About Us

The Dacula Dolphins Swim Team is a member of the Gwinnett County Swim League (GCSL) and part of the Gwinnett Parks and Recreation Association (GPRA). We are practice out of the Dacula Park Pool centrally located across from Dacula High School.

The purpose of the swim team is to introduce swimmers to competitive swimming, improve swimming skills of the participants, and enhance their general physical well- being with a focus on doing their best and showing good sportsmanship. While this is an introduction to competitive swimming, it is not a substitution for swim lessons. Your child must be a competent swimmer in the opinion of the coaches in order to participate. Swimmers are expected to swim a freestyle stroke of at least 25 yards unassisted.

New swimmers will undergo a basic evaluation during registration to be sure they are ready for competitive swimming. The basic objectives are development and fun. We hope all our swimmers learn what it means to be part of the team and engage in friendly competition and good sportsmanship. All swimmers are expected to participate in team practice and compete in swim meets.

Parents will work with the coordinators and coaches to meet these goals. The Dacula Dolphins Swim Team is a competitive team and a primary goal for the team is to perform well enough to win the league championship each year. Our team is run 100% by volunteers. Each family is responsible for volunteering throughout the season. This fast paced season is a great chance to meet new families and forge life-long friendships.
