My name is Tariq Turner, I coached the Anderson Swim Club and the YMCA MAKOS in Anderson, SC prior to moving to Georgia. I am happily married and a father of four. I had the pleasure of swimming competitively from middle school through college. My main events were the 50 free, 100 free, and the 100 fly. I was the team captain and MVP my senior year in high school. I was also the MVP my freshman year of college as well. I enjoy spending time with my family, swimming, enjoying the outdoors, playing competitive sports, camping, and playing video games. I am excited to have the opportunity to coach your little ones and am ready for another fun season!
My name is Phil Carroll. I started swimming in DeKalb County when I was six years old. My first swim coach asked me to try swimming butterfly and Individual Medley (IM), which ultimately became my two main events for 12+ years of competitive swimming. Some highlights throughout my swimming career include placing first place at State for the 100-Yard Free Relay & one year being awarded Most Valuable Swimmer by my coaches. I would later go on to have the privilege of coaching the same team where I first learned to swim. My fondness for the water would carry on throughout my career. My next venture was proudly serving in the United States Coast Guard. I’m married to my best friend and high school sweetheart, and we have two teenage boys who now swim for the Dacula Dolphins. I’m thrilled to assist Coach Tariq and can’t wait to watch the kids progress throughout their years of swimming. Go Dolphins!
