**Dolphins Newsletter (6/2 - 6/8)**

June 2nd

Good evening Dolphin parents,

We have a big week ahead of us so please read all the important information below.

Monday (tomorrow) – Regular Practice. I will run practice for each session like a mini mock meet. This will allow the new swimmers to swim “race pace” and get an indication of how the meet this upcoming Saturday will be like. It will also allow me to get pre-seed times for combining swimmers into their respective relays.

Saturday, June 8th – Splash Meet - OUR FIRST MEET!

  • I do not receive final meet details until later this week, so I will have a separate email on all info! Keep in mind however, the AM session is for 10&Under. This session usually lasts until noon. In years past, the PM session for 11&Up started their warm-ups around 12:15 PM.
  • I will send out a meet entry report later this week that shows what your swimmer will compete in. Please be aware that our coaching staff will not put your swimmer in an event he or she cannot swim correctly. There will be stroke officials who will disqualify any swimmer showing improper technique.

Pentathlon Meet (June 15th): I will announce the swimmers who qualify for the Pentathlon after I receive the Splash meet results on Saturday. Please keep in mind that this meet is for advanced swimmers. This means they must be able to swim all 4 strokes and the 100 IM legally. On top of that, they must have competitive times that are close to our league’s “All-Star” cuts in order to be considered.

  • If you RSVP’d YES for this meet but know that this meet is not for your child, do not worry about getting charged or changing your RSVP. I will not enter your child if they do not qualify.
  • Reminder that swimmers who cannot compete at the Pentathlon will compete at the Invitational Meet on the 22nd! Typically 70% of Dolphins attend the Invitational.
