Week #4

THIS WEEK’S HIGHLIGHTS:

MEET #2: DACULA DOLPHINS vs RICHLAND WAVES:

This week is our second Swim Meet of the season. Swimmer’s times will be recorded and count towards County Rankings. (The top 50 swimmers in each age group, for each stroke, as well as all Relay-A teams.)

BOGAN POOL:

• 2723 N. Bogan Road NE Buford, GA 30519

TIMING:

• 5:00 - Dacula Dolphin Warm-ups
• 5:30 - Richland Waves Warm-Ups
• 5:50 - Timers Meeting
• 6:00 - Meet Starts Promptly

PARKING:

Please park in the main parking lot of the Bogan Aquatic Center. Access to the seating area is through the pool deck. Please sign all swimmers & volunteers in at the check-in table before heading inside to the pool deck & seating area in back.

BULLPEN:

Both teams will have bullpens on the outdoor patio behind the pool. Our swimmers should set up on the side indicated by our Team Banner.

Families & swimmers are encouraged to bring folding chairs, blankets or extra towels to sit on. You are also welcome to bring and set up canopies. Don’t forget to bring your bug spray! Please observe all county pool regulations and be sure ALL trash makes it into the trash cans.

SEATING:

The seating on the pool deck is for staging swimmers only!

Parents can view their Swimmers Events by entering the pool deck from the doors marked “Spectator Entrance" up to 2 events beforehand. No chairs are allowed on the pool deck & everyone should return to the outdoor seating area as soon as their swimmers event is over to allow all parents the opportunity to see their swimmers swim.

CONCESSIONS:

Due to unforeseen events, there will be no concessions offered at this Meet.

However, King of Pops will be on hand selling frozen treats from their cart & coolers containing cold bottles of water will be available on deck and in the bullpen area for all Volunteers & Swimmers.

VOLUNTEERS:

***Reminder - Due to our Team’s Staffing Shortage, All Dacula Dolphin Volunteers work the entire Meet. *** There will be a 15 minute break halfway through the Meet.

MEET THEME:

Our theme for this Meet is Patriotic Pride. Let’s celebrate the USA!

REMINDERS:

***Remember, if your swimmer RSVP’d as attending a Meet and can not attend, you must TEXT Coach Tariq at (864) 569-1002 AND Coach Philip at (770) 689-7402 ASAP & BEFORE THE MEET STARTS. If you are signed up to work a shift at a Meet and can not work, you must find a replacement or hire a Rent-a-Fin (numbers are on our website) AND text Kim at (678) 799-1509 ASAP & before the Meet Starts. Shift workers MUST work the entire shift, even if their swimmer’s events are done.***

PLEASE NOTE - Swimmers are NOT to leave the Meet without the explicit approval of our BULLPEN Coordinator, Melissa. If your swimmer comes to you saying they are done with all their events, please come to our bullpen to DOUBLE CHECK with Melissa, as swimmers may be unaware that they are assigned to a relay.

If an emergency arises while you are at the Meet and you or your swimmer must leave before the Meet ends, you must make sure to inform a BOARD MEMBER before leaving. They will radio the Coaches to inform them.

Please remember that all swimmers are to remain in the BULLPEN for the duration of the Meet until all of their events and relays are done. If your swimmer comes over to you in the viewing area, please address their needs and then encourage them to return to the bullpen. Swimmers who do not remain in the bullpen can easily miss their events and relays. We appreciate our parents' assistance in preventing this.

CHECKLIST:

WRITE YOUR SWIMMER’S FIRST NAME ON THEIR RIGHT SHOULDER USING A BLACK SHARPIE MARKER, BEFORE YOU ARRIVE AT THE MEET. You will receive an email with the Heat Sheet on Wednesday. Please draw the Swimmers Grid on your swimmers & fill it in with their Events/Heat/Lane.
